Cambodia Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Intensification Consortium (CASIC) organized its 3rd Annual Regional workshop on “Regenerative Agriculture through Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization, Biosequestration, and Water Management.” in Battambang and Siem Reap from 2nd to 4th November.

On November 2, 3 and 4, Cambodia Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Intensification Consortium (CASIC) conducted its 3rd regional workshop at Regency Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap and a study field visit at Rattanak Mundol district of Battambang province with a theme “Regenerative Agriculture through Agroecology, Sustainable Agricultural Modernization, and Water Management”.

The workshop and the study field visit were held with a presidency of , (Under- Secretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Vice-chairman of CASIC’s Steering Committee), and H.E Dr. Chan Saruth (Under- Secretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Chairman of CASIC’s Steering Committee). Over 80 participants from Cambodia and other 17 different countries abroad representing different institutions including subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ministry of Environment, research institutions, universities, development partners (FAO Cambodia, CE SAIN Cambodia, UN ESCAP/CSAM, CARITAS, Swisscontact Cambodia, CIRAD, iDE, CAPRED), and other relevant private sector partners. The mission of this workshop and field study visit is to provide policies updates on Conservation Agriculture, Sustainable Intensification, and Agroecology (CA SI & Agroecology) through agricultural mechanization, water management, and biocarbon sequestration. Achievements and challenges in practicing CA/SI & agroecology were also parts of the topic discussion. The discussion was also focusing on research, human resource development, extension service, agricultural mechanization, and other services such as cover crops, water management, and financial transition.
